Innes Murray Becomes First Summer Signing

Kelty Hearts are delighted to announce the signing of Innes Murray.  The 27-year-old midfielder signs for the Maroon Machine following a spell at Arbroath.

Being used primarily as a wide midfielder this campaign, Murray made 35 appearances for the Red Lichties in their title winning campaign.  With 16 of those coming from the bench, Murray was an influential player for Arbroath.

Murray scored five times in the league this campaign, including Arbroath’s Goal of the Season. Murray also scored against Kelty Hearts in the 3-2 victory in December scoring Arbroath’s second equaliser of the match before Williamson’s winner.

Coming through the ranks at Celtic and later at Hibernian, Murray had loan spells at Stenhousemuir, Airdrie, Alloa and Edinburgh City.  Murray then signed for The Citizens in 2022 before joining then Championship Arbroath in January 2024.

Manager Thomas O’Ware is “delighted to bring him to the club.”  He said “Innes is a player I’ve been a big fan of for the last few years.  Having played against him I know just how good he is.

As well as his footballing ability he brings good experience which we need for the young squad.  I have no doubt he will have a successful spell at the club.”

Innes Murray joins the Maroon Machine on a 2 year contact.
