Kelty Hearts are delighted to announce the signing defensive midfielder Craig Clay. The 33 year-old joins the Maroon Machine after spending last season at Dunfermline Athletic.
Speaking to the Kelty Hearts media team, Craig is “delighted to get it sorted. Me and Thomas have been going back and forth the last few weeks and he’s played a huge part in me signing.

He’s been honest and straightforward, has the same goals and morals as myself and the way he wants to play football sounds perfect. I want to play my part in getting us competing as high up the league as possible.”
Clay made 20 total appearances for the Pars last campaign, guiding them to survival in the second tier. Before moving to Fife, Clay had a spell at Motherwell in 2016/17 as well as spending time in his native England with Leyton Orient and Grimsby Town among others.
Thomas O’Ware is ecstatic to finally get the deal over the line: “this has been a deal I’ve been working on all summer. Touched base with Craig at the end of the season to let him know our interests. We had to be patient as we knew there were a lot of interested parties but I’m delighted to get him!
He will bring a lot of experience and will be a fantastic professional to the younger players. He brings a wealth of experience and I’m over the moon that he’s a Kelty player.”
