Thomas O’Ware has continued to strengthen his squad with the addition of right-back Gordon Walker.

The 27-year-old arrives at New Central Park following the expiry of his contract with Dumbarton, subject to SFA approval. Born in Ireland, Gordon built his career across the Irish leagues, most notably featuring for Cork City before making the move to Scotland with Arbroath in 2024. A subsequent spell with East Fife has seen him gain valuable experience across the SPFL, establishing himself as a reliable and energetic option on the right-hand side of defence.

Gordon cited the club’s ambition and plans for the future as major factors behind his decision to join the maroon machine. “I’m really excited to get into pre-season and get going with the boys. It’s a settled squad with lots of quality players as well as some good new additions and hopefully I can add to that and help us have a positive season as a football club.

“The manager and my agent had been speaking for a while and once everything was ironed out it became an easy decision. Speaking to the gaffer really helped get it over the line. The vision he has for the club and the way the team plays is something I really admire. Alongside that, the investment in facilities and the direction the club is heading made it something I wanted to be a part of.”

Having experienced promotion battles throughout his career, Gordon believes Kelty Hearts should be setting their sights high heading into the new campaign. “Personally, I want to play as many games as possible and give the Kelty Hearts supporters a good, honest and hardworking performance every time I pull on the shirt. As a group, after relegation, the initial ambition has to be promotion. Looking at the quality already in the squad, I think we should be targeting a return to League One and pushing ourselves to achieve that.”
