More of Murray Thomas to Come

Kelty Hearts are delighted to announce Murray Thomas has extended his stay with the club. Joining the club last summer after leaving Hearts, Thomas will continue with his time in Fife.

Thomas has been used as a right-back since arriving at New Central Park. Very much a modern full-back, the 21 year-old uses his pace to both create chances for Kelty and defend them from opposition.

Speaking to Kelty Hearts TV, Murray Thomas’ position has been new to him. “When I first got brought in it wasn’t as a full-back, but I’d rather play there than nowhere. So I’ve taken a liking to it and I feel like I’m doing a good job there.”

Making 24 appearances for the Maroon Machine this campaign, Thomas has shared his position with the more experienced Scott Mercer. Thomas has also notched an assist in the win against Inverness last month, for Cole’s goal.

“I’m really happy to get it done to get ready for next season,” he beamed. “It’s my first professional first team I’ve been involved in, and I’ve loved every minute of it.”
