Ryan Shanley arrives at NCP

Thomas O’Ware has completed his first signing of the season in a move to bring Ryan Shanley to New Central Park ahead of the new season.

The striker came through the youth ranks at Hibs before gaining valuable experience out on loan with spells at Forfar, Edinburgh City and Kelty Hearts during the 2020/21 campaign. Ryan’s return to Kelty Hearts for the upcoming campaign presents and exciting opportunity for the forward “I am buzzing to get going, the club has a real vision with the new owners and know what they want to do which is a good foundation for the players. I know a few of the lads already and am excited to get in for pre-season.”

Following his successful loan spell with Edinburgh City, Shanley made the move permanent and went on to spend three seasons with the capital club. He later joined Falkirk, playing his part as the Bairns secured the SPFL Championship title winning season. Ryan arrives at New Central Park following a season with Stirling Albion FC and now returns to Kelty Hearts as preparations continue for the new campaign.

The manager was delighted to sure up the attack early doors ahead of the new season. “With the issues we had last season in the forward area, bringing in a player with Ryans experience was something I wanted to get done quickly. He’s a natural finisher and is still of an age where we can help him develop and improve.”

Shanley was sure to do his homework before making the move “I spoke with the gaffer and liked what he was saying, after that I spoke to a few of the boys and for me it was a no brainer. I’m looking forward to a successful season with the team and on a personal level I want to contribute to as many goals as I can.”

Everyone at Kelty Hearts would like to welcome Ryan back to the maroon and white.
