Nathan Lawson joins on loan from East Kilbride

Thomas O’Ware has added to his attacking options with the signing of 18-year-old forward Nathan Lawson on loan from East Kilbride, subject to SFA approval.

The youngster graduated from the Motherwell FC Academy and gained valuable experience in senior football last season with a loan spell at Cowdenbeath in the Lowland League. Nathan signed for East Kilbride this summer and featured during pre-season, where his performances helped bring about the opportunity to join the Maroon Machine.

Speaking on his move to New Central Park, Nathan said: “I’m really happy to join Kelty on loan, I already know a few boys in the squad and I’ve heard great things so just excited to get going now and show everyone what I can do.”

“The loan move came about while I was playing in friendlies with East Kilbride Mick Kennedy spoke to me and just said Kelty Hearts are really keen on taking you on loan and we both thought it would be a great move for my development.”

Manager Thomas O’Ware is confident the youngster can develop as a player with regular first-team football. “Nathan will add much needed competition in wide areas for us, he is a very powerful, direct winger and will benefit a lot from playing first team football. He has a great ability to find himself in the right areas to score goals and that is something we hope benefits us”.

Everyone at Kelty Hearts would like to welcome Nathan to the club and wish him every success during his loan spell in maroon and white.
