Kelty Hearts were on the wrong end of a comeback against Queen of the South. Goals from Benjamin Luissint, Jordan Allan and Kai Kennedy overturned Jacob MacIntyre’s early opener.
It took just three minutes for the Maroon Machine to break the deadlock, through MacIntyre’s third of the season. Laid off by Lewis Moore, MacIntyre opened up his body and curled in a finish from outside of the box.

The Doonhamers would equalise in the 28th minute through Luissint. After a scramble in the box the ball is cleared to Luissint who drills a low shot from distance past Ruaridh Adams.
The comeback was complete for the Dumfries side in the 63rd minute through Jordan Allan. A good through ball from Kennedy set up the striker who made no mistake with the finish when through on goal.
Victory was sealed for Queen of the South just six minutes later after a deadly counter attack. Luissint played a ball into the box from the right to Kennedy who took a touch, and calmly finished in front of the travelling support.

A golden opportunity for a route back into the game arrived when Johnston cut back to McCarvel, but his shot was straight at the goalkeeper.
In the first half Kelty had a good chance on the counter when Craig Johnston won the battle with a Queens defender. Running through one-on-one, the striker opted to cut back to MacIntyre but his pass was cut out.
Reflecting on the match to Kelty Hearts TV, interim manager Tam O’Ware said “overall it was disappointing. Over the piece of the 90 minutes, Queen of the South deserved the win. Overall, we weren’t good enough and for some reason the effort wasn’t there and that’s something we need to work on for next week.”
