It was defeat in the KDM Evolution Trophy as Celtic B secured a 1-0 win at New Central Park. A Finlay Hale header from a Rhys Dargie corner was all that separated the sides.
Thomas O’Ware was forced into a number of changes for the match, with a number of key first team players unavailable. Youngsters Clark Bexfield and Grant Leitch made starts, with the former producing a man of the match display.

The goal came in the 28th minute, with a corner swung in from the right by Dargie. Hale rose the highest and headed past Ryan Adamson.
Kelty Hearts came close to an equaliser before half time through Grant Leitch. Good play down the left saw Innes Murray cut a cross back, Leitch arrived and struck the bar.

Goalkeeper Aidan Rice was forced into two good saves throughout the match. Firstly, from Murray Thomas cutting in on the left and finally in the last minute of the 90 when James Graham was through in the box.
Reflecting on the defeat to Kelty Hearts TV, Thomas O’Ware said it was a “worthwhile exercise. Similar to Saturday, conceding the corner… it’s criminal to concede those kind of goals. Ultimately, it’s disappointing to work so hard and beat the press but not take the chances.”
