Match Report: Cove Rangers 0-0 Kelty Hearts

It was a goalless stalemate at the Balmoral Stadium as Kelty Hearts were held to a draw by Cove Rangers.  In a game of few clear-cut chances, neither side was able to make the breakthrough as the points were shared.

The closest either side came to scoring was Cove Rangers right before half-time.  The ball broke kindly for Cove and Declan Glass made his way into the box and struck at goal.  Ruaridh Adams made the save and parried as far as Adam Emslie, his follow-up effort cannoned off the crossbar.

Kelty Hearts’ man of the match was Jacob MacIntyre, who had a busy display and was a constant threat for the Maroon Machine.  MacIntyre had a good chance to put Kelty ahead in the second half too, after latching onto a loose pass back he got a shot away but Nick Suman was there to close the angle.

Despite lacking a quality finish, Kelty Hearts took up good attacking positions in the second half.  Both Jacob MacIntyre and Ross Cunningham delivered two good crosses from the right but the crosses were headed away and turned behind respectively.

Lewis Moore had a chance for a spectacular goal after catching Suman far from his line, but his effort from just inside the Cove half went over.

Reflecting on the match to Kelty Hearts TV, Michael Tidser was happy to take the point on the road.  “Performance wise I thought we were much better than the last few weeks, we lacked a bit of cutting edge in the final third but we done well to get in that position.  We’ll take a point on the road, considering the last few results so I’m pleased overall” he said.
