Kelty Hearts return to Stair Park for the first time since April 2022 in match day five of the league season as Kelty search for their first away win of the season.
A 3-0 win on April 16 2022 with goals from Robbie McNab, Tommy Reily and Kallum Higginbotham seeing out 12 points from a possible 12 against Stranraer that season.
This campaign, the Blues sit seventh in the table after picking up four points from their opening four games. Defeats in their opening two from Clyde and Annan were improved upon with a 1-0 win over The Spartans and a 2-2 draw against Stirling Albion despite taking a 2-0 lead.
The Maroon Machine will be eager to add away points on the board after two wins from their opening two games. Last time out, Kelty overcame an early setback against Dumbarton with goals from Jamie Hislop, Lewis Moore and Alex Ferguson securing a 3-1 win.
Two points separate Thomas O’Ware and Chris Aitken’s sides, with the league table still in its infancy after only four matches.
Last season, Stranraer finished fifth in the table narrowly missing out on a play-off place by three points behind Forfar.
Previewing the match to Kelty Hearts TV, Thomas O’Ware aims to clinch an away win. He said: “On Saturday (against Dumbarton) it was a great performance, some really positive individual performances and we need to try and get back to that. We know Saturday will be a really tough game against Stranraer so we’ll need to be at it, we’ll come in Thursday and dissect Saturday’s game and plan ahead for Stranraer.”
