Match Preview: Stenhousemuir v Kelty Hearts

Kelty Hearts look to bounce back after a heavy midweek defeat as we take on Stenhousemuir at Ochilview.  Charlie Mulgrew’s side will be keen to move on from Tuesday’s heavy 4-0 loss to Cove Rangers.

This weekend’s opponents similarly suffered a heavy defeat midweek, losing 4-1 away to Inverness CT.  The defeat derailed a five game winning run for the Warriors, and leaves them five points behind leaders Arbroath.

Kelty Hearts and Stenhousemuir have been difficult to separate based off previous meetings this season.  The first at New Central Park was a 2-0 win for the Maroon Machine with goals from Scott Allan and Ross Cunningham.

Gary Naysmith’s side won the previous encounter at Ochilview 2-1, where Stenny raced to a 2-0 lead before Cunningham pegged them back.  It was penalty heroics for Darren Jamieson to secure all three points for the hosts, saving Cunningham’s stoppage time penalty.

Stenhousemuir know they can’t afford more slip-ups as the run-in for the title approaches.  Meanwhile, a win for Charlie Mulgrew’s side could close the gap to fourth place to two points, while extending the gap from those behind.
