Montrose Trip Awaits in Mid-Week Action for Kelty

It’s a quick turnaround for the Maroon Machine as they travel to Montrose on Tuesday night.  Montrose sit sixth in the table and are six points away from the top four.

This is a catch-up game for both sides.  A win for Kelty Hearts would close the gap to one point behind Hamilton Academical and three points behind Cove Rangers.  For Montrose, they could end the night three points off the top four.

Thomas O’Ware is hopeful the side can take the positives from holding the league leaders Inverness at New Central Park.  A run of three draws on the bounce has been beneficial for the squad, however Kelty are still without that elusive win.

At the weekend, Stewart Petrie’s side played out a 1-1 draw with Hamilton.  Kieran Freeman gave the Gable Endies the lead in the first half before Lee Kilday scored the equaliser.

Link’s Park has been a fortress for Montrose, with their last home league defeat coming in early November.  However, Kelty did pick up all three points there on the second day of the season.

Luke McCarvel gave Kelty Hearts the lead that day before Kieran Freeman equalised before half time.  The Maroon Machine were reduced to ten men at the 64th minute mark, however despite all odds Kelty found a late winner through Joseph Teasdale.

Previewing the match to Kelty Hearts TV, Thomas O’Ware said “we’ll assess the squad and see who’s feeling what.  We’ll have a team prepared to go out and try and win the game.  We know we have ground to make up and Tuesday night’s a good opportunity.”
