O’Ware Hopeful Cup Win Can “Springboard” Kelty Against On-Form Stenny

The Maroon Machine welcome high-soaring Stenhousemir to New Central Park under the lights on Saturday evening.  The game will be televised on BBC Alba as Thomas O’Ware looks to extinguish Stenny’s red hot form.

Kelty Hearts will hope to build on last week’s cup success in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.  A dramatic penalty shoot-out win followed a 1-1 draw in regular time with fellow League One side Cove Rangers.

Stenhousemuir caused one of the most eye-catching results of the round last weekend, beating Greenock Morton 4-0.  Goals from Ross Meechan, Gregor Buchanan alongside a brace from Matty Aitken set up a fifth round tie for the Warriors against Premiership Falkirk.

A run of one defeat in their last 12 matches sees our opponents as one of the form side’s in the country.  Gary Naysmith’s side have closed the gap on Inverness at the top of the table, second only on goal difference.

Thomas O’Ware has bolstered his squad this week with the addition of Cameron Cooper from Airdrieonians.  The 20 year-old striker signs having already scored twice this season for the Diamonds.

Despite the gap in league position, the matches between Kelty and Stenhousemuir have been tight affairs.  The Warriors won narrowly at New Central Park last time meanwhile an entertaining 2-2 draw played out at Ochilview.

Cameron Cooper is expected to make his debut for the club as club captain Craig Johnston went off injured last week against Cove Rangers.  Meanwhile Dylan Corr could return to the squad after being cup-tied last week.
