New Central Park is the venue for one of the biggest games of Kelty Hearts’ season.  10th place Kelty host 8th place Montrose in what could be described as a six-pointer.

Six points separates the two sides, with a win paramount for the Maroon Machine to keep on the tails of the safety of eighth place.  A defeat would leave Kelty nine points behind safety.

Our opponents have picked up four points from their last two games, as well as a comfortable Scottish Cup win away to Benburb.  Last time out in league action, the Gable Endies picked up a 2-1 win at home to East Fife.

The last time the sides met was Kelty Hearts first win of the league campaign.  Goals from Luke McCarvel and a 90th minute winner from Joseph Teasdale secured all three points away from home.

Kelty Hearts will be hoping that last week’s comprehensive win over Brechin City will be a catalyst for an upturn in form.  Goals from Innes Murray and Alex Ferguson booked our place in the fourth round.

Previewing this weekend’s match, Thomas O’Ware said “we’ll need to look after the players through the week.  Preparations will be what it always is, we’ll get in, we’ll train and we’ll get ourselves ready for a massive home game.”
