Decisive Derby Day Looms for Kelty Hearts

Kelty Hearts welcome kingdom rivals East Fife to New Central Park.  This will be the fifth and final meeting of the two clubs this campaign.

After all previous meetings between the two sides went to East Fife’s advantage, Kelty Hearts won the previous Bayview meeting.  A Lewis Moore goal was enough to secure a 1-0 win for Kelty in December.

Since the meeting, East Fife have been on a poor run of form themselves.  Dick Campbell’s men have only won once in their last thirteen matches, also losing their last four on the bounce.  This display has seen them slide down the table, currently sitting four points above Hamilton in ninth.

For the Maroon Machine, an unbeaten run of five league draws came to an end last week with a defeat away to Alloa Athletic.  Despite taking the lead in the first half through Alasdair Davidson’s first goal for the club, the Wasps turned it around in the second half.

With eight games to go from now until the end of the season, it is do or die for Kelty Hearts as we look to push on and avoid relegation.  For East Fife, they will be wary of being dragged in at the bottom if they do not turn their form around.

Previewing the match to Kelty Hearts TV, Thomas O’Ware said “it’s the same message.  We’ve got a fight on our hands, and we’ve made it even more difficult for ourselves.  We’ll come in on Tuesday and Thursday and prepare for Saturday’s game.”
