It’s a return to midweek action as Kelty Hearts take on Cove Rangers at New Central Park.  Nine points separate the two sides as Cove sit third in the table with Kelty fifth.

Saturday’s goalless draw with Montrose saw Kelty increase the gap to ninth place.  With tonight’s match being a game in hand, the Maroon Machine can finish the evening two points behind the promotion play-offs with a win.

Cove Rangers are in a decent run of form and are currently seven unbeaten in the league.  Paul Hartley’s side came from behind to win 3-1 against Queen of the South last time, with goals from Blair Yule and a brace from Adam Emslie.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides, with Kelty yet to get the better of the Aberdeen team.  In September, goals from Mitch Megginson, Blair Yule and Findlay Marshall secured a 3-1 win at New Central Park.  Meanwhile, the December fixture finished goalless at the Balmoral Stadium.

The league’s top two individual goal scorers will be on display tonight in Ross Cunningham and Mitch Megginson.  Cunningham currently leads the way in the fight for the golden boot with 12 goals, compared to Megginson’s 11.

Previewing the match to Kelty Hearts TV, Charlie Mulgrew said “we’ll be ready to go again.  Hopefully the boys recover well and we’ll be good to go.”
