Celtic B Await in the Cup

Kelty Hearts welcome Celtic B to New Central Park in matchday two of the KDM Evolution Trophy.

The Maroon Machine will be hoping to build on the win on match day one.  We defeated League Two side Annan Athletic, thanks to a late Innes Murray penalty.

Our opponents also began their cup journey with a victory, away to League Two Clyde.  After Clyde full-back Tommy Robson was sent off in the 10th minute, the young Celts recorded a 3-1 victory.  Goals came from Callum Osmand, Sean McArdle and Samuel Isiguzo with Robbie Leitch replying for the hosts.

On the bench for Celtic B that night was full-back Colby Donovan, who has made an appearance for the first team this campaign.  Additionally, Callum Osmand was signed by Celtic from Premier League side Fulham this summer.

Stephen McManus’ side are currently seventh in the Lowland League table after playing seven matches.  At the weekend they were held to a 1-1 draw by Gala Fairyden Rovers.

Previewing the match to Kelty Hearts TV, Thomas O’Ware said “we’ll need to see what we can do with the staff.  I think we’ve got nine or ten players fit for Tuesday, so we will have to see what we can do.”
