Match Preview: Kelty Hearts v Arbroath

Kelty Hearts welcome the league leaders Arbroath to New Central Park. The Maroon Machine face tough opposition to build on the run of one loss in our last four league matches.

Arbroath are on an impressive run of form and have won four of their last five matches. The winning run was halted last time out with a surprise 1-1 draw against bottom side Dumbarton.

Charlie Mulgrew’s team will be looking to build momentum for the run-in. Last time in the league we played out a hard fought 0-0 draw against third placed Stenhousemuir.

Kelty Hearts have been a thorn in the sides for the Red Lichties however, beating them twice this season. The first was a memorable 3-0 win at Gayfield with goals from Scott Allan, Scott Williamson and Ross Cunningham.

The previous encounter at New Central Park was also a Kelty win in a tight 3-2 match. Most recently however, Arbroath got the better of Kelty in 2-1 win last month.

Previewing the match for Kelty Hearts TV, Charlie Mulgrew said “it’s a tough game. It’s one we are going to need to be ready for the battle. We’ll take Saturday’s performance into account and score some goals this time.”
