Match Preview: Kelty Hearts v Alloa Athletic

It’s back to League One action for Kelty Hearts as Alloa Athletic visit New Central Park.  Both sides currently sit on 22 points with the Maroon Machine having played one less game than the Wasps.

After Alloa played during the week, the Wasps have moved level on points with Kelty Hearts and sit third in a very tight league table.  That match was a 2-2 draw against Dumbarton, which now leaves Alloa with one win in seven in all competitions.

The last match between the teams finished 1-0 to Alloa at the Indodrill Stadium.  A Conor Sammon winner sealed all three points for Andy Graham’s side.

For Kelty Hearts, Michael Tidser’s side will be looking to bounce back from last week’s disappointing cup exit to Elgin.  The League Two team progressed through with a 3-2 win at Borough Briggs, but league form had been good with two consecutive wins prior to that defeat.

Kelty Hearts are unbeaten in their last three league matches, with back-to-back 2-0 wins against Dumbarton an Annan.  However, Alloa have proved to be a thorn in Kelty’s side this season already and will pose a threat at New Central Park.
