Derby Day Awaits for Kelty at Bayview

Kelty Hearts make the short journey to Methil to take on East Fife in a Fife derby.  It is our first league meeting with the Fifers.

The two sides last met in the Premier Sports Cup group stage at New Central Park, with the visitors coming out on top.  Alan Trouten’s late goal separated the two teams, in a game with few chances.

Since the beginning of the league campaign, both teams have picked up one win in their opening matches.  East Fife got their first win of the season against early pacesetters Hamilton.  A quick brace from Robert Jones turned the game on its head at Broadwood.

After a free week, Kelty will look to build on the momentum of the dramatic 2-1 win away to Montrose.  Joseph Teasdale’s last-minute winner rewarded a resilient Kelty performance who were down to 10 men for the final half hour.

East Fife will have a familiar face between the sticks in Ruaridh Adams.  The goalkeeper has signed for the Bayview side from Dundee United, after spending last campaign at New Central Park.

Previewing the match to Kelty Hearts TV, Thomas O’Ware is “excited for the game.  It’s a local derby so it will have a good atmosphere.  We go into the game on the back of two good results but we know it will be a very tough game against very strong opposition.”
