Preparations Underway for Crucial Cove Clash

It’s 10th versus 9th in League One as Kelty Hearts travel to take on Cove Rangers.  The Balmoral Stadium will host two teams who are desperate to turn their fortunes around.

One point is all that splits the two teams while Cove Rangers are yet to win a game in the league.  Paul Hartley’s side have been surprise strugglers and have similarly been hit with an injury crisis.

Including KDM Evolution Trophy ties, Cove are winless in their last five.  On Tuesday they played out a 1-1 draw with Hibs B in the south-side of Aberdeen.

As well as the usual threats of Mitch Megginson and Blair Yule, Kelty will have to contain forward David Eguaibor.  The striker has already netted a hat-trick this season, scoring all three in Cove’s 3-3 draw with Montrose.

Thomas O’Ware will be hoping that Tuesday’s thrilling draw with Dumbarton will improve the confidence in front of goal.  In the opening 40 minutes of that game, the Maroon Machine scored more than they have in their last five league matches.

Kelty Hearts have never beaten Cove in a league game.  Last campaign, our two trips to the Balmoral Stadium ended in draws with the visitors coming out on top at New Central Park.

Previewing the match to Kelty Hearts TV, Thomas O’Ware updated the injury status of the squad.  “It’ll be touch and go, Corey Armour joins the long-term list but we’ll assess Craig Clay and Lewis Moore.  We’ll let the boys settle down, bring them in on Thursday to take care of them and we’ll see where we are.”
