Match Preview: Annan Athletic v Kelty Hearts

Kelty Hearts make the journey south to take on Annan Athletic in this League One encounter.  The Maroon Machine are keen to build on last week’s win against Dumbarton which stopped a four game winning run.

In the earlier meeting this season, Kelty Hearts turned in a dominant display at New Central Park.  Goals from Scott Mercer, Lewis Moore and Scott Williamson secured all three points before Tommy Muir was shown a straight red card for the visitors in the closing stages.

Since then, both sides have had identical runs of form picking up seven points from 15. Both Wullie Gibson and Michael Tidser’s teams have won two of their last five.  The goal-shy Galabankies have scored the least amount of any team in the league this season.

Annan sit 8th in the league table, two points above Dumbarton in the relegation play-off spot.  Last week’s win over Dumbarton lifts Kelty to third in the table – however with only four points separating league leaders Cove Rangers and 7th placed Montrose, the league table is difficult to read into.

Previewing the game to Kelty Hearts TV, Michael Tidser “we look forward to going down to Annan.  We went through a tricky patch, but it’s just about being calm.  Picking up a point against Inverness and three points against Dumbarton, hopefully that’s us turned a corner.”
