Kelty Hearts on the Road Again for Alloa Trip

It’s the third game in a week for Kelty Hearts as we travel to take on Alloa Athletic.  After a draw midweek to Montrose it’s another away trip as Kelty travel to Clackmannanshire.

The Maroon Machine are on a run of five successive draws.  The run has been built on defensive stability, with a breakthrough at the other end of the pitch often lacking.

On Tuesday night Kelty Hearts played out a 1-1 draw in Montrose.  The Gable Endies took the lead right before half time through Ewan Louden, before Lewis Moore got the equaliser in the 73rd minute.

This weekend’s opponents are having another strong campaign sitting third in the table.  The Wasps have a sizeable gap between themselves and Stenhousemuir in second, and also sit four points above Queen of the South in fourth.

Alloa Athletic are on a strong run themselves and have won their last three games on the bounce.  Last weekend, goals from Callum Burnside and Charlie Dewar secured a 1-0 win at Bayview.

The last meeting between Kelty Hearts and Alloa finished as a 1-1 draw at New Central Park.  Aaron Arnott got the equaliser in the closing stages of the match, equalising after Calum Adamson’s opener.  Andy Graham’s side won the other two encounters 2-0 and 3-0.

With the gap to Hamilton in ninth now cut to three points, three points for the Maroon Machine would be a huge boost.

Previewing the match to Kelty Hearts TV, Thomas O’Ware said “it’ll be an exciting game.  Alloa are a really good side and we’ve struggled in the times we’ve played them.  But it’s another opportunity for us to try and put it right and get something from the game.”
