Match Preview: Alloa Athletic v Kelty Hearts

Kelty Hearts will look to get back to winning ways after their first defeat of the league campaign when they visit Alloa.  Michael Tidser’s side’s bouncebackability will be tested after a 3-1 home defeat to Cove Rangers.

Last week at New Central Park, Kelty rued missed chances against Cove before Blair Yule gave the visitors the lead in the 85th minute.  The result saw an unbeaten run of six matches come to an end.

This weekend’s opponents Alloa Athletic are the league leaders and have continued their unbeaten start to the season.  The Wasps have won two of their six opening games and have drawn the rest, proving they are hard to beat.

In previous meetings, last season saw two wins each for both sides.  Kelty won both games at New Central Park meanwhile Alloa won both at the Indodrill Stadium.

Last week Ross Cunningham added another goal to his tally.  He has scored more goals than any other player in the league this season, and will be keen to add more.  Cunningham scored the equaliser against Cove Rangers by beating the defender with a turn and firing home from outside the box.

The game also saw Sam Cleall-Harding make his debut at centre-back alongside Tam O’Ware.  Speaking to Kelty Hearts TV last week, the captain previewed this weekend’s game by saying “they’re doing really well.  You want to get back out there after a disappointing result and hopefully get a good reaction.”
