McManus Signs On At NCP

Thomas O’Ware’s second signing of the night came through the youth ranks at Celtic FC before progressing into the senior setup at the club. During his time there, Connor experienced loan spells with Alloa Athletic and Queen of the South. Following his departure from the Glasgow giants Connor moved to Greenock Morton, where he teamed up with the gaffer and Michael Tidser. Subsequent moves to Stranraer and East Fife have seen Connor establish himself as an experienced and dependable midfielder at SPFL level. Connor will join the ranks at New Central Park following expiry of his deal at East Fife, subject to SFA approval.

The midfielder highlighted his games against Kelty last season as a reason behind signing for the club “I’m delighted to have signed for the club. I was impressed by the style of play when I came up against Kelty last season and I feel like it will really compliment me as a player. The manager reached out to me a few weeks ago about the possibility of me joining. I actually played alongside Tam and Tids at Morton briefly so I already had a connection there and know how they want the game to be played. After a few conversations I was delighted to get the deal done.”

During his time with East Fife, he played his part in helping the Bayview club secure promotion from League Two and Connor hopes that experience comes into play this season “I think the ambition for the season has to be pushing at the top end of the table and seeing where it takes us. Seeing the quality in the squad, then I have no doubt we can have a successful season.”

Everyone at Kelty Hearts would like to welcome Connor to the club and wish him every success in maroon and white.
