Match Preview: Dumbarton v Kelty Hearts

We travel west to Dumbarton on matchday five of the William Hill Scottish League One season in the hopes of extending our unbeaten run.  This is the first league meeting between the two sides, having met in the SPFL Trust Trophy last season where Kelty Hearts ran out 3-1 winners.

It has been an impressive start to the season for Kelty Hearts with eight points from our opening four matches seeing the Maroon Machine as the early pacesetters of the division.  Dumbarton are also unbeaten in the league this season, having drawn all of their matches so far.

The Sons came from 2-0 down last time out against Arbroath to draw 2-2, and have shown their attacking ability to put three past Alloa in another draw earlier this season.  Michael Ruth has been the danger man for Stevie Farrell’s side, with three goals so far this season.

Michael Tidser will be hoping for some key players recovering from injuries for this fixture.  By the end of last week’s goalless draw with Inverness both Tidser and Tam O’Ware were taken off with injuries.  This is in addition to being without Adam Corbett, Robbie Cole and Lewis Moore.

Tidser previewed the match to Kelty Hearts TV by saying “they’ve always had a good side and done well to come up last year so it’s important we try look after ourselves and we go over there with a strong mindset.”
