Kelty Hearts were defeated 3-0 by Dunfermline at New Central Park in a result which see’s Kelty go winless in our Pre-Season efforts. A first half goal from Charlie Gilmour and two second half goals from Keith Bray see the Pars claim victory.

The opening goal came in the 10th minute after aggressive pressing from the visitors. Lewis Moore’s hooked clearance only went as far as Gilmour, his shot audacious attempt from outside the bus was too quick for the new keeper Jamie Smith to get to at the bottom corner.
Kelty began to grow into the game which shortly after the opening goal saw a long ball over the top from Innes Murray not far from our own 18yard box skipped under the feet of John Tod and into the path of Ryan Shanley. Through one on one with the trialist Pars keeper but Shanley shot is seen wide of the post.

The Maroon Machine had started the second half well with an early chance falling to the feet of Moffett who plays through Gordon Walker whose shot is saved at the near post. The resulting corner was played to the edge of the area where it was met by Innes Murray who’s first time attempt was put over the bar to the nerves of Dunfermline supporters.
Soon after Dunfermline made a large number of changes, with a fresher looking Dunfermline side it was on the 65th minute saw a Dunfermline corner whipped into the box, met by the head of an unmarked Keith Bray who’s header is hit off the crossbar and into the back of the net to double Dunfermline’s lead.
In the 72nd minute Dunfermline managed to cap off the afternoon with a 3rd goal and a 2nd of the game for Keith Bray. Rudden’s cross to the back post is found by Callum Morrison who lays it off to Bray who has shot first time into the far corner of the goal past Jamie Smith.
Reflecting on the afternoon to Kelty Hearts TV, the returning Callum Flatman said “ For me it’s just building blocks, 15, 30, 60 and hopefully next week we build again.” Flatman who spent majority of last season out injured is keen to get back out playing and doing all he can to help the squad this season.
