KELTY HEARTS DEVELOPING FOR THE FUTURE

Tuesday night marked a proud moment in Kelty Hearts’ continued growth and commitment to player development, as several young talents from the club’s new academy set up made their mark in competitive first-team action.

This season, Kelty Hearts have taken an exciting step forward by joining Club Academy Scotland at U17 and U19 levels, a major stride in bridging the gap between grassroots football and the professional game. The move forms part of the club’s long-term vision to create a fluid and realistic pathway from community football right through to the first team.

That pathway was on full display this week when Kelty Hearts faced Hearts B in the KDM Evolution Trophy Group Stage, with several academy players pulling on the Kelty shirt in competitive action, and making history in the process.

Adam Winiarski(U17) became the youngest player to start a competitive match for Kelty Hearts at the age of 15 years 348 days old, a remarkable achievement for the young midfielder. Fellow U17 teammate Archie Margetts also made his competitive debut, Whilst Cammy Brown, another standout from the 17’s, made his second first-team appearance having previously set the record as Kelty’s youngest player when featured as a substitute against Dumbarton earlier in the campaign at the age of 15 years 217 days old.

From the U19’s, Kian McHale and Jay Snoddy both made their competitive debuts, while Bailey Campbell and Clark Bexfield continued to build valuable experience after several appearances this season. Jake Ritchie also made his First-team debut earlier in the season against Dumbarton, further highlighting the depth of talent emerging from the academy setup.

These appearances mark an exciting new chapter for the club and a clear sign that the pathway to senior football is alive and well at New Central Park.

Academy and first-team staff have worked closely together to ensure that talented young players are given opportunities to learn, develop and experience the standard required at senior level. The progress made so far is a testament to the hard work of everyone involved in the Kelty Hearts Academy, coaches, players and support staff alike.

As Kelty Hearts continue to evolve both on and off the pitch, the development of young players remains a key focus for the club. With the next generation already making their mark, the future at New Central Park looks very bright indeed.
